Six things that shape your price
Understanding these makes it easy to design a building that fits both your needs and your budget.
Size and height
Width, length, and leg height set the amount of steel in your building. Width and height move the price more than length — a taller wall or wider clear span costs more per foot than simply adding length.
Steel gauge and roof style
Framing comes in 12- or 14-gauge and panels in 26- or 29-gauge; heavier steel costs more and lasts longer. Vertical roofs use more material than regular or A-frame but shed rain and snow the best.
Local wind and snow codes
Your county's wind and snow loads decide the framing and bracing you need. A certified building rated to 170 MPH wind and 40 PSF snow costs more than a non-certified one — and it's what passes inspection.
Doors, windows, and insulation
Every roll-up door, walk-in door, window, and insulation package adds framing, hardware, and material. This is the easiest area to scale up or down to hit your budget.
Your location
Delivery distance and the current price of raw steel both move the final number. Steel is a commodity, so quotes reflect the market at the time you order — another reason we price to your ZIP.
Site preparation
Your building price does not include site work. A level, debris-free pad — and a concrete slab if you want one — is arranged separately. We advise on prep; you hire the local contractor.

As a rule of thumb, EMB buildings start around $11 to $20 per square foot. Open carports sit at the low end; enclosed, certified, and insulated buildings sit at the top. The only way to know your exact number is a quote priced to your ZIP code and configuration.
No two buildings are alike. Size, height, roof style, gauge, doors, windows, insulation, your local wind and snow codes, and delivery distance all change the total — and steel prices move with the market. We quote each building specifically so the number is real, not a guess.
Your building price covers the engineered steel frame, roof and wall panels, doors and windows in your configuration, certified drawings where required, and free delivery and professional installation. Site prep, foundation, permits, utilities, and interior finish-out are separate.
Yes — EMB includes free delivery and professional installation on your building. The illustrative ranges here reflect a delivered-and-installed building. Site preparation and any concrete slab are arranged separately with a local contractor.
Steel is a global commodity, so the base cost shifts with the raw material market, supply, and demand. Delivery distance also factors in. Because of this, quotes reflect current pricing at the time you order rather than a static list price.
Yes. Adjusting the size, choosing a regular or A-frame roof over vertical, trimming doors and windows, or skipping insulation all bring the number down. Our team will walk through the trade-offs with you and build a quote to your budget.
